Power to the people x 17 miljoen met directe digitale democratie?

Datum:  Donderdag 12 januari
Tijd:       15.00 – 18.00 uur
Locatie: Hoefkade 11, Den Haag

This year Den Haag/The Hague welcomed new residents and other people who fled their home country and who have found a safe shelter in our city. These newcomers will have to find their place in our society and we are keen to help them. The wish and the skills to build a new life are often there, but what’s often missing is a network. All (new) residents of The Hague are invited to bring some home cooked food and to start a conversation!

Eat to Meet Den Haag at Pakhuis de Règâh is organised by Welkom Hier/Justice & Peace in association with Come & Eat Den Haag.
Come & Eat Den Haag was launched after the manifestation
Welkom Hier The Hague (7th of Februari). During the Welkom Hier manifestations, initiatives, refugees and visitors get the opportunity to meet and inspire each other to become active. At the Welkom Hier The Hague manifestation, the idea of Come & Eat Den Haag was born, which encourages Hagenezen to invite refugee status holders over for dinner in their own houses.

The 16th of December will be extra special! Welkom Hier will be there to show different initiatives in The Hague that create projects for/with refugees and that are still in need of volunteers.  The Eat to Meet-programme will be filled with pitches from different local initiatives and a pubquiz to test your knowledge about The Hague and each other.
So Come & Eat. Eat to Meet. Meet initiatives and get actively involved!

If you have any questions about this great night out, let us know: hallo@deregah.nl

This year Den Haag/The Hague will welcome many new residents. People who fled their country and who have found a safe shelter in our city. These newcomers will have to find their place in our society and we are keen to help them. Join this 9th episode of our informal Come & Eat dinner where you get the chance to meet (new) Hagenezen. We would like to give special attention to invite female newcomers, so we can get to know them as well. Please bring your girlfriends/sisters/mother/grandmother too and spread the word!

Food connects
The newcomers in our country bring all kinds of talents, knowledge and skills. The wish and the skills to build a new life are often there, but what’s often missing is a network. This is where the locals come in; they have the opportunity to enrich and share their network on this evening.Good to know

  • Dinner is offered for free, but we would like to ask the locals for a small contribution (5 euros) which is used to cover the travel expenses of the newcomers.
  • We strive to an equal participation of locals and new Hagenezen.
  • We will organize this event on a regular basis, so you will be sure of a seat at our dinner table next time.
